New Year’s Resolutions Check-In (and Chicken)

Five Resolutions Georges Farmers Market Can Help You Achieve

We’re a few weeks into 2023, and the question is — how are your New Year’s resolutions holding up? Every year, almost 40% of adults set New Year’s resolutions in the United States. However, almost half are expected to fail before the end of January — 43% to be exact. Even more staggering — 23% of people fail within the first week. If you’re included in those who have already failed — don’t stop reading! It’s never the wrong time to resolve to do better in some area of your life. And we at Georges Farmers Market can help!

According to the Statista Global Consumer Survey, the most common resolution in the United States for 2023 was to exercise more. Unfortunately, we have no chicken-based advice for that. We could… put you to work on the farm? That seems like a bad idea. You’re on your own for that one. But we can help you with many other common resolutions.

Check out some of the top New Year’s resolutions people made this year — and see how you can accomplish them with our chicken at your side (or on your table)!

1) Eat Healthier

Eating healthier is the second most popular resolution in the United States this year, with 50% of people ready to take on the challenge. And we are ready to help you succeed with this resolution! We raise our chickens without hormones, steroids, or antibiotics and always with a non-GMO diet, giving you a product that feels good and tastes good! Chicken also provides a great source of protein, with one of our boneless, skinless chicken breasts containing 26 grams in a 4-ounce serving!

Other health benefits of chicken include:

  • Builds stronger bones and muscles
  • Helps with weight management
  • Improves heart health
  • Boosts mood
  • Contains vitamin B12, zinc, copper, and iron

2) Lose Weight

Losing weight came in as the third most common resolution this year, making the top three all health related. The new year is a great time to focus on your health — and the masses agree, with 70% of all resolutions relating to physical health, according to a Swiss study.

As mentioned above, chicken provides an excellent source of protein — and increased protein intake can help propel your weight loss journey. Studies show that consuming protein as 30% of your daily calories helps you lose weight.

A high-protein diet:

  • Boosts metabolism, helping you burn more calories
  • Reduces appetite, helping you eat fewer calories
  • Balances weight-regulating hormones
